Sometimes you just KNOW it’s time to let go and move on. Even when it doesn’t make sense.
This is what happened when I KNEW…
I BURNED MY BRAND. (Whaat!? No Clickbait Here!)
The day started with my Guides telling me it’s time to “clean up & clear out.”
Where first? I turned to my office closet… the closet-of-shame, where I hid my mistakes.
I pulled out piles of notebooks from coach training programs I’ve done. Boxes of taped coaching sessions to prove I was worthy of certification as a Master Coach. Letterhead, flyers, video equipment.
Then the hardest part – the brand I developed over the past 3 years: Fountain of You – Helping women look and feel 15 years younger. Website, biz cards, live event stuff, banners, sales forms, the whole enchilada.
Dear Brand, I invested so much time and money in you and you were so beautiful. You fit for a while, but now I’ve outgrown you. It hurts to let you go, but now I know it’s time for something even better.
The Voice (my ego’s voice) went crazy then, but I grabbed my journal and wrote it all down:
The Voice says…You wasted all that money and time for nothing! You just dabble in things. You never stick with anything. You thought you were something, didn’t you? Now what? You should give up.
Through tears, sobs, heat searing my chest and face, I kept writing.
Higher Self says…LOOK AT ALL I’M LEARNING. I’M GOOD AT TRYING AND FAILING. I COMMIT TO MY HIGHEST PURPOSE. I AM HERE. IT IS SAFE TO BE A POWERFUL WOMAN.
I chose a few symbolic papers from the pile in the middle of the floor: a business card, old logo, sales form for my 5-step system, a beautiful poster.
I stepped out of the closet, walked into the kitchen, grabbed a wok and put the papers and a handful of salt inside it. Outside, I placed the pan on a rock and struck a match. A heart spasm as I saw the fire leap up…
My Guides stood with me at the funeral pyre for my old identity, watching the ashes float into the wind, whispering surrender… trust.
Love,
Lee
