What I’m Into (December 2016 Edition)

There's a lot of holly-jolly expectations this time of year; what are you surrounding yourself with that brings you joy? A furry new friend helped me... // A blog post from Lee S. Irwin

In My Ears…

Keep on Moving: The Best of Angelique Kidjo

I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning recently, and this gorgeous album is making it (almost) fun! High vibe drum music for dancing around the house. Listen along on Spotify

On My Nightstand…

The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein

This is an EXCELLENT read if you’re looking to transform fear into faith in order to live a divinely guided life… something I am totally in favor of. 😉

Gabrielle’s intention for this book is just so darn inspiring: “My commitment is to wake up as many people as possible to their connection to faith and joy. In that connection, we can be guided to our true purpose: to be love and spread love.”

In My Tummy…

Numi Toasted Rice Green Tea

You know how sometimes green tea can have a *bite*? Not so with this nutty, savory smooth cup of deliciousness. Medium levels of caffeine, organic, and non-GMO. The perfect little coffee-free kick for a busy day. #winning

In My World…

New Moon Ritual

October 31 is celebrated in some ancient cultures as the earth’s New Year. It’s a great time express gratitude and set intentions, so I set off with a close circle of girlfriends for a late night ritual. We drove an hour from my home to Moundville Archeological Park – site of a Native American civilization from the 1300’s.

After feasting on a pot of veggie stew and grapes, we spread a woven cloth on the grass and added ears of corn and a pumpkin to symbolize the harvest. We placed a large amethyst crystal in the center of the altar, along with a handmade flute and sacred condor feather. We lit one candle for each person in our lives who has passed on and thanked them for the gifts they gave us on this journey. As one of us played a melody on the flute we sang, delighting in the starlight twinkling above us.

On My Shopping List…

Recently, I bought…

  • One sisal scratching post
  • One litter box
  • One catnip squeaky mouse
  • One training “clicker”
  • One window perch
  • One copy of How to Think Like a Cat by Pam Johnson-Bennett
  • One adorable female red tabby kitten

(Welcome to the family, Ruby!)
