To get what you want, stop wanting it.

How do *you* get what you want? Plot? Pout? Shout?

Earlier this week, I stumbled across a quote from Marissa Mayer and it really struck a chord with me:

You can’t have everything you want, but you can have the things that really matter to you.

I’d love to know your take on Marissa’s quote. After reading it, I realized…

Just because I want something doesn’t mean I’ll get it. I’ve got to make it matter to me and take the action that proves how much it matters to me.

desire unstoppableThink about your life for a moment…

Of all the things that matter most to you, how many are in your life right now?

Be really honest with yourself here.

Maybe it’s having a job you love that lights you up or a husband who supports your big dreams and adores you.

Maybe it’s having a healthy (and sexy) body or having quiet time dedicated to *you*.

Whatever those things are – How many are currently in your life?  How did they get there?

Did they magically appear one day or were there some actions involved? Did you wake up one morning with a husband of 20 years or did you have to go on some dates, get to know each other, get engaged, get married, and grow together over 20 years?

Without jumping to conclusions, I’m guessing that you didn’t just wake up one morning married to a husband of 20 years. You had to make that relationship matter to you and take action to prove it.

Of all the things that matter most to you, how many of those things are NOT in your life right now?

I realized, at one point in my life, that having a healthy body – inside and out – was something I really wanted, but didn’t have. I thought about it all the time and I really, really, really did want it. I would watch other women bounce through their day with lots of energy, rock adorable clothes with confidence, and seem pleased with themselves. I wanted that TOO!

But as my want became stronger, my body did not. In fact, no matter how much I wanted it, I still didn’t have the energized, confident, sexy body I wanted until

I discovered that there were a few tweaks I could make to what I was doing throughout the day that would help me.  So, I began taking one step at a time.  Only working one tweak.  After working on one thing each week, and taking action to prove how much having a healthy body meant to me, my body changed. My energy changed. My mood and my confidence changed.

Now, if you’ll let me brag a little bit here, my body feels AMAZING! I feel way more energized and alive now than I did when I was 39.

Here’s what I learned: Everything I want will happen when I stop wanting it so much and start taking small, consistent actions.

I’d like you to think back on those things that matter most to you, that are NOT in your life currently and ask yourself…

Does This Really Matter To Me?

Am I taking the small, consistent actions to prove it?

If you answered “No” to either of those questions, you’ve got a huge disconnect between your desires and your outcomes.

I’d like to help you get what your heart desires.

In my SPARK program, I walk women through my super easy system to get the things that matter most to them.

Here’s one question we ask ourselves…

What one small change, that I’m ready and willing to make, can I make this week to help me move toward my intention?

So tell me, what one small change are you going to make this week to help you get what you want most?
