You rush home at the end of a workday and throw on the first dress you find in your closet. You swipe on some chapstick, make a half-hearted attempt at a hairstyle, and jump back into the car. You’re already at the party when you realize you’re wearing the same thing as last year…
I’ve been there, girlfriend. And seriously – holiday primping? Ain’t nobody got time for that.
December is here; the season of parties and family gatherings. These are lovely – but they do fill the schedule alarmingly quickly. And unless you’ve got 48 hours hidden in your stocking, I’ll bet you don’t have a lot of extra time!
Well lean in, because I’ve got your back. Here’s some of my hottest high-impact, low-effort beauty tips for the holidays!
Even the sleekest French knot can have frizz. Spritz an old toothbrush with hairspray, and lightly brush down those pesky flyaways. Maximum control – but only where you need it!
Only Rudolph looks great with a shiny nose – slip a pack of blotting papers into your purse, car, or desk. These gorgeous Tatcha blotting papers would do the trick, and Clear & Clear has one of the best products on the market. Lightly sweep one over your forehead, nose, and chin to absorb excess oil and give your face a finished look.
Lip color makes a festive statement – as long as it sticks around! Use a lip primer to set the stage (like this $3 Lip Plumper and Primer from e.l.f. Cosmetics), line with a pencil a shade darker than your natural skin color, and for the finishing touch, layer a balm over a lip stain or matte stick. Air kisses for days!
For a feminine look that will last longer, go for a flattering nude polish like Fed Up by Essie or Shell We Dance? by Sally Hansen. The shiny gloss will immediately add a classy & classic touch to your look, and if (when) it chips, it’s a lot less noticeable.
No need to break the bank on a whole new outfit! Your LBD can be party-ready in no time with the quick addition of a sparkly hair comb, warm shrug, bright belt, gilded handbag, or dance-til-dawn shoe clips. I’ve collected some ideas for you on my Holiday Fashion in a Flash Pinterest board! <3
Glitter on, girlfriend.
